Where to start, where to start...I'll start at the very beginning. A very good place to start (Cue Sound of Music).
This morning I took my car to the shop to get an oil change. A mere $30 task. No big deal. I get a call halfway through the day...my Serpentine (?) Belt needs replaced. How much will that cost? $163. Perfect. Also, I need to start thinking about having my timing belt replaced. How much will that cost? $650. Fantastic. I tell them to go ahead and replace the Serpentine Belt (after consultion with my Dad). My $30 bill ended up being $176 (I begged for discounts and complained about not being able to eat the rest of the week if they didn't give me discounts...Okay, so maybe I batted my eyelashed a time or two as well. So sue me.).
So now, I have my lovely car back in my possession and I head happily off to Occoee to go to the Chiropractor. Chiropractor goes well and I head back towards Disney to meet a friend and let her into the park. On I-4 I hear my car start dinging (similar to the noise that cars make when you leave your headlights on after you turn off the car). I look down at my dashboard and see my water temperature gauge all the way to the "H". First thought: "Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap." I call my dad as I pull my car off the side of the road. My dad explains that all I need to do is put water in the coolant thing (that's the technical term for you...thing). So I call my friend Ryan and beg for him to come save me. Scott and Ryan come to the rescue with a couple of gallons of water...but only after the Road Rangers have pulled over to help (Thank you Lord for the Road Rangers. No Seriously. THANK YOU LORD!!!). The Road Ranger man looks under the hood of my car and dicovers that my radiator cap was loose, hence the reason that the fluid was low. And, he finds that my battery has started to corode. Lovely. He then tells me that I should be a little bit skeptical of the work that was done on my car today. Awesome.
So at this point I'm a little bit angry at the car place. This would be the 3rd time that I've taken my car in to get fixed and had something go wrong AFTER they "fixed" it. It would be safe to say that I'm going to have words tomorrow with the car place.
On a bright note. I have fantastic friends. Scott and Ryan rock. I shall repay them tomorrow night with a lovely Peanut Butter pie.
I was finally able to head on to Disney and got to see Austina for the first time in nearly a year and a half!!! So excited. I miss her a lot!
All in all, I have to sit back and laugh a bit at today. Car problems and all, I'm still blessed :)
