Who Knew Yo-Yos could be so funny?

This might be the funniest thing I've seen. In a long time. Can't help but feel some pity for the guy.

Mailbox Surprise

My friend Sarah came to visit recently. We were checking my mail while she was at my house and found a...well...surprise, I guess you could say. And here was our reaction:

Oh and don't you worry....I'll likely be posting more videos of our adventures.

Twitter

Had a great day today (friends, beach, frisbee, tennis, bike riding, Pei Wei, "Away We Go"). Anyway, while on the way to the beach today, Rachel and Dustin started talking about Twitter which led to a conversation about a funny video on College Humor. I was laughing as they described it so of course, I had to look it up. And it's hilarious. So watch below. And laugh. Or not. Meh. :-)

More funny stuff by Dave Barnes.

Maybe I just think it's funny b/c I like to act silly. Check it out. So funny.

And this is why I love Dave Barnes

If I haven't told you to listen to his music, I will at some point. Dave Barnes is an incredibly talented musician. His lyrics are witty and easy to relate to. And his melodies are full of variety--no two songs sound alike. Plus, he puts on a fantastic live show with lots of energy and audience interaction. On top of all of that, he's stinkin' hilarious. I saw Dave (sure, we're on a first name basis) had posted a new video and as I was watching, I couldn't help but giggle a little bit. So check out this funny guy:

A Grocery Store Adventure

I observe random/funny things on a regular basis. 99% of the time I wish that I had someone to call up and share my random observation with. I wish I had someone who shared my amusement at the most peculiar things. I don't always though. Sometimes, maybe. Sometimes, I think of someone who would appreciate the silly story or observation. But most of the time, I just think about how these times are meant for just me to keep my life amusing. To break up the dull moments of life.

In any case, I had one of those experiences at the grocery story today. Actually, I have a lot of these experiences at the grocery store. It's interesting what happens when you observe people at the grocery. And I really like grocery shopping--unfortunately I just don't prefer to cook all that often. Sigh.

Anyhow. Tonight I was wandering around the store and decided I wanted to purchase my weekly supply of yogurt (yum!). I pushed my cart up to the yogurt shelves in the dairy section and there was a man there who seemed to be intensely inspecting every single yogurt brand and flavor intent on making just the right selection. I paused for a moment thinking he would grab some yogurt and move on, but as I stood there I realized that this man was in no hurry of leaving the yogurt section any time soon. He was leaning in towards the shelves with his feet planted firmly in place as though he was taking up residency right there in the dairy aisle. So, I decided to move on to the produce section and circle back around when he was finished.

I moved on to the produce section and selected some bananas and plums (incase you were interested in my fruit selections!) and then headed down the frozen food section (dinner = frozen pizza tonight. Don't judge. I cooked dinner the past 2 nights!). As I turned my cart down the frozen pizza aisle, there he was...again. This time the I-can't-make-a-decision man was leaning firmly against the glass of the pizza doors inspecting every pizza available. I stood back for a moment and tried to look around him, but realized the pizza I wanted to select was right behind the door he was leaning on. So. I stood back a while longer until he finally selected his 2 pizzas. I quickly ducked in then and grabbed my selected pizza. As I turned to walk away I looked down the aisle and saw him again. A little further down the aisle checking out other frozen food selections. And once again, leaning intently against the glass of the door. I was amused by this man's obviously strong desire to make the perfect food selection and also left wondering how long exactly it took him to complete his shopping trip. Maybe if I go back tomorrow he'll still be there...and maybe he'll have made it to the produce section by then. Maybe.

And one more add on. The one place I always seem to forget where I parked my car is at the grocery store. I'm usually on my cell phone when I pull into the parking lot, but when I leave the grocery store I usually have a hard time recalling where I've parked. I don't particularly have this problem anywhere else. Just the grocery. Weird.

Last, but not least...I rented a movie tonight. I'm watching "My Sassy Girl". It's cute. Enjoy the quote I like below:

"Some of us are meant to suffer, ya know? Some of us are led to believe that we have this certain destiny and it just gets stashed away. But we have to stay alive because we have to see how the story ends. Right?" -- My Sassy Girl

Afternoon at the pool...

Rachel and I spent the afternoon at the pool. It was mostly uneventful. That is, until the birds got hungry. On a table across the pool from us some people had left an open bag of doritos. They then got in the pool and were swimming. Shortly thereafter, a swarm of birds discovered the open dorito bag and were all over free food. There were birds swimming all around the pool with bright orange chips in their beaks. Rachel and I were enjoying the scene...and also hoping that the people wouldn't go back and eat their doritos...

Don't look to the right...

Last night Rachel, Fawn and I went out for dinner. On our way home (I was driving), we were sitting at a stop light when the following occured:

Rachel: Wow, there are some really sketchy guys in that car.
Fawn and I: What car? Where?
Rachel: Don't look to the right. They're in that car.
Me: *Looks to the right*
Rachel: I SAID DON'T LOOK TO THE RIGHT!!!!!

We all start busting up laughing. Apparently I don't take directions very well.

Brilliant

Seriously. "Stuff Christians Like" is the funniest blog I've ever read (followed closely by Sara's blog, from whom I learned about "Stuff Christians Like"). I'm sure you've probably had similar thoughts/responses as this blog author has had. Anyhow, read it. Laugh at it. And then share it. Because it's funny stuff.
