Weekend...

Is it the weekend yet?  Or the new year?  Just checking.

What was the reason for this?

I remember sitting down at my computer thinking I had something to write.  But now I can't remember.  Sigh.  Oh well.  In any case, my evening was amazing.  I decided this afternoon that I deserved/needed (take your pick) some time at the Spa.  I was thinking I would make an appointment this weekend...but then I thought about it more.  And with the past few days being somewhat, kinda, really crappy, I thought now was much better than later to visit the spa.  So after work I headed over to the Yacht Club, worked out for a while, listened to my iPod, took a long shower, and then...a 50 minute massage.  Can I just say that when I left, I felt a million times better.  No seriously.  It's amazing what the littlest things can do.  But then again, I'm sure that my friends being super awesome and amazing has had a big part in me feeling better.  

In any case...3 days until Aaron and Jess arrive.  Sure, they may be coming to see Ryan, but I'm just as excited!!!  OMG! :)

GATOR FOOTBALL!!

Okay first let me preface this by saying that my allegiance lays first and foremost with THE Ohio State University Buckeyes.  So, with the BCS rankings being released I am THRILLED that OSU is ranked where they are.  And I'm still holding out hope for us.

Now, let me continue.  Living in Florida and having many many friends who are Gator (die hard) fans, I've started to become a Gator Fan as well.  I mean, hey, can you blame me?  They're a good, talented team.  So I am excited to say that I will be going to my very first game at The Swamp in just a few weeks.  GO GATORS!!  And I will be sporting Orange and Blue.  It's actually a cute shirt, don't hate.  We have seats on the 50 yard line (!!!!) for the UF/South Carolina game.  OH.MY.GOSH.  It's gonna be sweet.  Sweet, I tell ya.

But all my fellow Buckeyes, don't you worry.  I'll secretly be cheering on the Buckeyes the entire time!!

Sick...

I think I've worked myself up so much that I don't feel good.  My stomach hurts pretty bad and has most of the day.  Just trying to make sense of so many things that so many people have told me...trying to make sense of this jumbled mess of my life.  God has a plan and understanding isn't my place.  But I'm not going to lie, sometimes I wish that my plan was God's plan.  I know I need to be faithful because ultimately, His plan is perfect and I will trust and find comfort in that.  But for now, I wrestle with this overwhelming sickness...

Tomorrow 10/10:  Team outing at Epcot/Magic Kingdom

Saturday 10/11:  Running last minute errands, getting my car fixed, watching football, PACKING

Sunday 10/12:  Leaving for LAS VEGAS and Sunday night I'm going to a party with one of our vendors.

Monday 10/13:  Conference and going to see Blue Man Group!

Tuesday 10/14:  Conference and dinner with a vendor!

Wednesday 10/15: Conference and possibly Cirque du Soleil or another show in Vegas

Thursday 10/16:  Heading back to ORLANDO

Friday 10/17:  Depending how exhausted/jet-lagged I am, going into work and then going to Niceville!!  Shopping/hanging out with Allison for a bit and then I get to see Matt!

Saturday and Sunday 10/18 & 10/19:  Hanging out in Niceville/Destin!!! :)

Monday 10/20:  HAPPY BIRTHDAY FAWN!!

Friday 10/24:  High School Musical 3 with hopefully all of my favoritest people.  Yes, favoritest.

Saturday 10/25: Melissa & Andrew's wedding and Ingrid Michaelson/Brooke Fraser concert with Rachel.

Sunday 10/26: Juan is coming into town for a conference and he's never been to Disney so I get to take him!!  Fun!

That's just October...What a fantastic month!  Seriously good.  And those are just the highlights.  There are all of my favorite things in there too like church and community group and friend time and just the typical, normal every day loving life things.

Life is good.  Good, good, good :)

But PS--please pray for safe travels for me.  A little bit nervous about that...

Excited

Lots going on in the next week or so.  And you could say I'm excited.  Team outing on Friday (I love getting out of the office!).  Leaving for Las Vegas for a conference on Sunday (slightly nervous) and then heading north the following weekend.  A good friend is getting married the following weekend and I'm also going to an amazing concert.  And then my friend, Juan, from home is coming into town.  Guess I can't complain about life, huh? :)

It's good.  

Politics

My view on politics--why can't people just be honest?  Because seriously, whoever gets elected is going to take office and not follow through on half of what they claim is their platform right now.  Does that sound pessimistic?  Well, it probably is.

What do I want in a politician?  Someone who loves Jesus, someone who lives the gospel, someone who takes care of all God's creation, and most of all, someone who loves people--all people, regardless of economic status, age, race, and even nationality.  And yep, I said it.  I want a candidate who loves Jesus.  My belief?  The word of Christ is the only absolute truth and if I'm a Christian, it isn't something that can be sectioned off into certain areas of my life.  It affects every decision, every though, every action that I take.  I want that same thing in my presidential candidate.  Because ultimately, if we allow Christ to rule our heart and rule our nation we find the purest form of truth, love, mercy, and grace.  What more can you ask for?

And I suppose that's why I'm not a politician.  Wouldn't last for a minute.
