Strike 1, 2, and 3...But still fun!

I got to go to lunch yesterday with Matt. During lunch we were talking about how Wicked is playing at the Bob Carr right now and how you can put your name in the lottery each night to try to get a $25 ticket for the sold-out show. Today at work Matt IM'd me and we decided, what the heck, let's give it a shot. We met up with our friends Melissa and Andrew at the Bob Carr and put our names in the lottery. Unfortunately, none of us were chosen :( --Strike 1.

So at 6:15 on a Friday night Matt and I were planless. Next, we decided to head over to Universal Studios to see if we could ride the new Simpsons ride. We were confident that Universal had to be open until at least 8 on a Friday night. We drove into the parking garage to find that it closed at 6. What the heck?!? Closing at 6 on a Friday night in May?!? That just seemed absurd. But there was Strike 2.

Our creativeness for planning was running low so we decided that we would just head over to Hollywood Studios to see if Toy Story Mania was open. Matt, however, didn't have his ID with him. Luckily, I had my ID and my Silver pass with me so we went to Studios and were finally in luck--it was open until 8:30. We walked back to TSM only to find that it wasn't open. Bummer. Strike 3. Since we were already at the Studios we decided we had to ride something before we left. On our first lucky break of the day, Tower of Terror only had a 30 minute wait (which was much less) so we got to ride TOT!

After our exhausting search for Friday night entertainment, we headed over to Beaches 'n Cream to reward ourselves with ice cream. The waitress told us some interesting facts about the Kitchen Sink of ice cream there. It has a whole can of Whip Cream (A whole can?!?!?) which equals 1000 calories in itself!!! Then add all of the ice cream, syrups, and other toppings--that's probably at least 5000 calories per a sink. Annnnd, they have a Kitchen Sink challenge. If you can eat the entire thing by yourself in an hour you get it for free. Can you imagine how sick you'd have to feel afterwards? Omigosh...disgusting.

Afterwards we checked out the movie on the beach and found that High School Musical 2 was playing. We watched a few minutes but then decided we were over it. We walked some of the ice cream off around the Boardwalk and then came back to Celebration and walked a bit more of the ice cream off at Relay for Life at Lakeside.

It was quite the random night, but we did a pretty good job of finding entertainment for ourselves! Although, I'll admit, I really really really wanted to see Wicked!!! Oh well. Maybe next time. It was worth a try!
